Oxford: Christ Church Library

This library was not at all what I expected it to be, and by the end of our tour I was absolutely blown away. Our guide, Steven Archer, showed us some incredible books, including Queen Elizabeth I's personal Bible. We also were able to see some of Lewis Carroll's original sketches of some of the characters from Alice in Wonderland.

We also were able to waltz through some more Harry Potter scenes in the Great Hall, and the staircase that was used for the moving stairwells at Hogwarts...they were stationary here at Oxford to my disappointment.

As our guide saved this incredible bit of information at the end of our tour, I too will conclude with the same information: We were sitting in the former office of Lewis Carroll that overlooked the garden where real life Alice Liddell, the inspiration for the fictional Alice, took walks with Charles Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll).

It was a very exciting end to our visit at Christ Church Library!
